Mad Dogs Win Tourney Shutout Opponents to Take Medal |
October 31, 2008 - The Woodland Soccer
Club’s U14 Mad Dogs shutout all opponents this
weekend to take the first place medal at the
2008 Halloween Shootout in Citrus Heights.
In the Championship game, the Mad Dogs pounded
the Citrus Heights’ Wolfpack beating them 6 – 0.
The Mad dogs were lead offensively by Hayden
Russell with three goals and one assist. Cameron
Hayes had one goal and two assists. James Carden
and Brandon Brooks each added one goal. Tommy
Connolly had two assists and Ian Hohenwarter had
one assist. Defensive standouts for the game
were Connolly, Hayes, Adam Klingler, and John
Connolly.
To earn their way into the finals, the Mad Dogs
defeated team Milan 5-0, the Red Raiders 4-0,
and the Rangers 5-0. Contributing to the Mad
Dogs offensive domination were Russell with six
goals and two assists, Carden with three goals
and two assists, Hayes with two goals and six
assists, Tommy Connolly with two goals and three
assists, Liam Campbell with two goals and three
assists, Klingler with two goals and one assist,
John Connolly with one goal and one assist,
Christian Rodriquez with one goal and one
assist, Brandon Brooks with one goal, and
Hohenwarter with two assists.
For the tournament, Goalie Sheldon Morgan
received strong defensive support from Tommy
Connolly, Klingler, Surgio Aradoz, and Seth
Phipps.
The Mad Dogs are coached by Tom Connolly and Pat
Klingler.
